Here at ASSET (Americans Standing for the Simplification of the Estate Tax), we strive to simplify the way the estate tax, which is imposed at death, is collected. ASSET is a coalition that brings together private businesses, family farms, ranchers and individuals who have been advocating for a change to the collection method for the Estate Tax. Members of ASSET believe that so long as the IRS requires the estate tax be paid, there is a simpler collection method that allows the same cash flow to the treasury without costing jobs or forcing the sale or closure of businesses and farms. ASSET is a 501 (c)4 non-profit that works with think tanks, elected officials and thought leaders on Capitol Hill to bring about an option for the estate tax that will change the dialogue and provide fairness and permanent relief to the estate tax.
